MBTI: Horror Villains
Halloween is on the way, so who better to type than the only characters in Horror movies that make them worth watching? Some characters are a little more obvious to type while a couple in there are a stretch, but they work.
If I missed anybody, let me know. ISFP was a tricky one but he was an artist in his previous life so that’s something. Is there any argument on what Jason is, regardless of the movie? Didn’t think so.
Here are some of the old school guys.

I’d like to offer an edition to the list: Ghostface (Scream Series 1996-2011). Everyone who used this costume has always had a strategic plan for revenge, or fame. A definite INTJ.

Tough to say. Billy, Micky, Mrs. Loomis, and all the others just seemed to be killing people to make Sidney miserable, saving her for last. COULD be INTJ but personally, it didn’t seem like any of them had good reasons save for Billy’s mom.
They all had their alibis and lies they were going to tell to get out of it, but I was always missed why they were actually doing it. Fame?
10/03/2013 at 9:52 pm
Mickywas going to blame the movies if he got caught. Causing huge news media controversy on violence in cinema affecting society. Then, he would hire the best lawyers with funding from groups who are against violent cinema. Then, he’d have a trial which the world would watch & he’d have his fame.
Billy just wanted revenge for Sidney’s mom causing Billy’s mom to abandon him. But after he killed her mother, he still had the urge to kill Sidney. & he had it all planned to frame her father for the murders & he gets away.
Mrs. Loomis wanted revenge on Sidney for killing Billy. She orchestrated all evidence point to Mickey. She even used a fake name so people couldn’t track her if they ever discovered a 2nd killer.
All of them are strategists. They planned everything out.

I don’t know if you saw Scream 3 or 4. So I won’t mention what happened there.
10/03/2013 at 11:36 pm
Yep, I’ve seen’em. While there’s definitely a plan there to get revenge on Sidney and co., if I remember correctly they didn’t kill most people in a certain order for the most part, though I could be wrong.
I don’t know if those goals for fame are necessarily an INTJ thing- anybody could go after anything for their own reasons but it’s more of an Artisan thing to kill based on revenge or especially fame.
They could be INTJ sure, they’re usually a bit bigger picture than that.

I meant *addition*.

Well, there was a certain order in Scream 2 & 3. In Scream 2, the killers were trying to finish what was started. Almost like a retake. So, a couple was killed. Then, a blonde. Then, came to the killings that were to finish what was started. They went after the survivors of the 1st movie, specifically. Not just Sidney. & they killed others that got in the way, but weren’t the planned targets, per say.
Scream 3 had an order. Killing off the cast of the movie in the movie, Stab 3, in the order that they died in the Stab 3 script.
Scream 4’s killings were trying to symbolize a remake of the 1st movie’s killing. Two kills in the beginning, like always. But also reinventing itself by adding more carnage, which tend to match up with the “Standards” of modern horror films compared to the originals.
So, you had all of the concept references with plans for revenge or fame, etc. And by the way, INTJ is strongly linked to Narcissism, which can be seen as a desire for fame or attention. Like the Riddler in Batman. He’s a narcissist & wants attention.
10/04/2013 at 11:34 am
He definitely wants attention, the Riddler, but he’s also generally thought of as an Extravert. And narcissism definitely can encompass fame and attention, but that’s dependent on the person.
For an Introvert, it could just be in the form of obsessively focusing on themselves and needing no attention from others because their word is the only word that’s good enough. Or possibly just receive compliments from those close to them.
But ALAS! I can get behind the idea of the Ghostface persona as INTJ. Heck, I haven’t seen those movies in years so from your descriptions and what I remember of the movie, I agree with you.

I saw a compelling case for INFJ Michael.
10/04/2013 at 6:27 pm
Well, I brought this up as I was watching Scream 2 & 3, so I figured I could show how Ghostface is INTJ.

I think Norman Bates is an INFJ…
10/18/2013 at 12:33 pm
And why do you think that, good sir?
10/23/2013 at 9:33 pm
What would you type Dr. Loomis from the Halloween films (Donald Pleasence’s.)?
10/24/2013 at 1:23 am
It’s the easy way out to say “INFJ” since it’s the go-to for psychiatry, therapy, counseling and the like, but still- it seems like an appropriate choice. Possibly ENFJ.
