Zack Snyder and the DCEU are in it to win it and you need to wrap your inferior PEA BRAINS AROUND THAT AND I WILL NOT TOLERATE A DIFFERENT OPINION.

Let’s beat a dead horse, shall we?

Part 1 is here.

Why the DCEU Needs Zack Snyder

Nolan set a pretty high standard with the Dark Knight movies that sent WB into a frenzy when he left in trying to figure out how to keep it going. So this is the path we’re on.

They made a Superman movie that could have taken place in the DK world but that’s roughly transitioned into a world where all the OTHER characters have to inhabit as well. So it looks like Snyder is going to continue being the man involved. If not him, then who?

Though they should have been taking out despotic rulers guarded by super assassins, the #Sqwad spent their time accidentally meeting up with the Joker for a few minutes and going to the Enchantress light show. Maybe next time?

Some X-Men Movie Whining

Maybe I’m just not getting it. I don’t believe that at all, I’m just trying to figure out the mindset in making these movies. I guess because you have actors like Fassbender and co., nobody feels like they actually have to make a cohesive story?

Whatever, just let me whine. Specifically about the insistence that Magneto and Mystique aren’t really all that bad.

Everybody loves it when a character is played just right. When every nuance and whim made by the decision of whoever, be it the actor, writer, or director- when it comes together, it’s just fits.

Then there’s the actors who just are their character. Sure, they’re a superhero or exorcist or whatever, but everything they do is the actor themselves pretending to be a genius scientist, rather than fully becoming the character.

And while guys like Denzel Washington have made a career out of doing this, making a major character from a pre-existing franchise your own is something to be proud of, and it’s fun to watch. Continue reading

1

Stars: Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Lee Pace, Karen Gillan, Djimon Honsou, Michael Rooker, John C. Reilly, Glenn Close, Benicio del Toro

Rated PG-13 for intense sequences of sci-fi violence and action, and for some language, Running time 121 minutes, Action/Sci-fi/Adventure

Compare to: Star Trek (2009), Pacific Rim (2013)

When Guardians of the Galaxy was initially announced, it was met with as much excitement as it was confusion. “A movie from the Avengers people? Woo-hoo! It’s got a walking tree and a talking raccoon in it? Huh?”

But being based on the comics, the world is as weird as it is vast and with comic book movies being where the money is, there are only so many movies that are going to be released that bring the modern day mythological characters down to earth while looking up to the stars seems like the next step. Just Let It Happen, Fox

A short, but necessary article today, from a movie lover. When I say article, I mean a ‘desperate plea’ to the studios. Several movie news web sites are reporting that rights on my childhood favorite Marvel character, Daredevil, are about to go back to Marvel. Which sounds awesome, right? They’re the reason all the Avengers films have been so good, because they’re giving a crap about their characters, rather than just dumping a movie onto the first A-list actor that shows interest. Well, now reports are saying that Marvel doesn’t want to Daredevil back, which makes me want to scream. Continue reading
