Who could love Satan? Satanists, sure. But generally he makes for the baddest villain of all time and he’s got no one to love him. And I don’t mean “baddest” as in “cool,” I just mean BAD. Like evil. So it’s no wonder when he’s depicted in film, you know the stakes of the story are high.

Could the biblical Satan be typed? Probably not, seeing as how he’s more of a living force than a person. The Lucifer of Paradise Lost is usually typed as an ENTJ; dominating, leading type. And for some of the most famous on screen devils of all time? The answers probably aren’t too surprising. Continue reading

MBTI: The ENTP and ISTP Team-Up

There are a lot of interesting dynamics in Type interactions and certain writers tend to go for certain pairings. As previously written, INTJ and ESFP together seem to be a pretty explosive combination that can garner a lot of attention when done well.

Another duo that can make for an interesting story is the ENTP and ISTP. While the two appear to be nothing alike, their preferences can make for plotting that’s equal parts brains and action. Continue reading

MBTI: Deadpool- ENTP

“Frankly, if I’d known Deadpool was such a creep when I agreed to write the mini-series, I wouldn’t have done it. Someone who hasn’t paid for their crimes presents a problem for me.”

-Mark Waid, Deadpool writer, 1994.

One of Marvel’s most popular characters in the past several years, there’s always a bit of debate about his type; Sensing over Intuition? Feeling over Thinking? This debate will finally be put to rest! Not really, but you know what I mean, right? I’m laying out my argument and any detractors may do just that at will. Detract away!

Deadpool refuses to be in the same category as either the goody-two-shoes hero nor the cold-hearted, murderous villain. His days of “mercenarying” are ever present yet he usually ends up trying to do the right thing if he has to make a moral decision at all, fitting an ENTP trait of amorality with shades of positivity. Having just about reached the 600 million mark at the box office by the time this was written, We’ve got another Nolan hit on our hands. It’s not surprising though, seeing as how hungry the Nolanites were for something new, and even those that would hate the idea of being labeled anything other than what they choose have to admit that he can get their attention.

So do we have another cast of well-rounded, obsessed individuals flipping around on a psychological jungle gym? You betcha. Continue reading

I can’t say I’m a fan of the different sites that are intent on relating different MBTI types to inanimate objects, or what state each would be. While I’ve got certain articles that are definitely reaching, I’d like to think most of the information I present clarifies what’s already been put forward, and does so in an entertaining, understandable, and informative way.

That being said, instead of relating the different groups to toasters or Wyoming, here’s one way to explain to your friends that just “have to know” about MBTI how the types differ by group. Associating different terms will be easier to remember when they’re paired with something you’re already familiar with. There’s not much to this, but that’s part of the point.

So here are the parts of the body that best fit each group, based on that part of the body’s function to the rest of it, as the groups and their role in society. Continue reading

MBTI: The Fast and the Furious Cast

Film Title: Fast & Furious 6

Though I’ve had my issues with the series, there’s no denying the appeal of a seven movie film series that’s just added on three more. While they could be picked apart in terms of cheesiness and physics (“How did you know that car would break our fall?”), there’s still a pretty big cast that’s perfect for typing. Now, I didn’t say a wide variety but variety all the same.

From common street racers to international terrorists, Dom and his team have been the jealous envy of car fanatics everywhere since 2001. And since the new trailer is out for Furious 7, we may as well type this (3)billion dollar car monster. Continue reading

Some Minor Spoilers May Apply!

As much as we love our heroes, as seen in MBTI: The Types (of Types) of Heroes, where we examine the kind of heroes each type are in fiction, the villains are what makes their exploits so intriguing to watch. How can you have a phoenix to rise if he doesn’t burn first? C’mon.

And before you press on, understand that while we may sympathize with many villains, it’s their actions that make them such, regardless of how complex they may be. Continue reading

MBTI: Game of Thrones’ Littlefinger- INTJ or ENTP?

Spoilers! You’ve been warned!

Written in part by Rebecca Shortman

Blast you, Littlefinger! As unpredictable and mysterious as he is in the show goes double for viewers in real life. While many have typed Petyr Baelish as INTJ, in a recent article I’ve typed him as ENTP. Though through an INFP’s argument (Rebecca!), the case was presented convincingly enough to merit a discussion of Lord Baelish’s Ni or Ne preferences.

So is he the Mastermind behind many of the shows biggest events? Or the Inventor of the chaos hoping to be the last man standing when the smoke clears? A little bit of both from the way I just worded it, but let’s go into more detail. Continue reading

Spoilers! You’ve been warned!

Westeros’ two most devious information brokers have got one thing going between the two of them- Ne. It’s not surprising at all that Littlefinger is often typed as INTJ, being that he works behind the scenes and it seems to be for total control. But Varys as INFJ? Are we watching the same show?

Here’s an examination and comparison of the characters and their respective types. Continue reading

MBTI: Tyrion Lannister- ENTP

Spoilers! You’ve been warned!

What a perfect representation of the ENTP- in the form of a “little person.” Not only is Peter Dinklage breaking boundaries in his own career, the character is great even if he were of average height; though the inclusion of the ridicule he faces makes the character that much more intriguing.

Often times, characters have a dark past we’re meant to think is mysterious or a well placed scar across their face to make you believe they’re ruggedly handsome. Here, we’ve got a character whose “hindrance” is one never been seen before because it’s not cool- making him even more worthy of “underdog” status. Plus he’s got a cool scar. Continue reading
