MBTI: Luna Lovegood- INFP or INTP?

To some it may be obvious what the weirdest kid at Hogwarts might be, but examining all the evidence, there’s a pretty good bit to suggest she might be the dreamiest dreamer or the thinkiest thinker. I’m working on making “thinkiest” a real word.

While Ravenclaw doesn’t seem to make too much of an impact on the overarching story of Harry Potter, an introduction to Luna gives us an idea of the type of student that makes up the house. Intelligent, offbeat, and pretty freaking weird. Let’s get into it. Continue reading

MBTI: Hero Typing Tropes

hero18

I had to word the title carefully so as not to make it sound like I was typing “Heroes,” the show and so it wouldn’t so like the other post, MBTI: The Types (of Types) of Heroes. Though I guess any writer who knows how to bring in the readers would have made it sound like both of those posts just to get everybody. But that ain’t me.

If you’ve come here enough, you’ve seen links to what has to be one of the greatest sites on the internet, TV Tropes. Yes, even better than BubbaliciousBlackBubbleButts.com. If that’s a real site, I had no idea. And from TV Tropes and Typing, can come the realization that every type fits well within the confines of some of the many sorts of heroes fiction can bring us. So while we’ve described how each type is represented in the Hero mold, let’s reverse this to see how the Hero mold can fit certain types.

If you see the name, there is a link to it. Continue reading

MBTI: Q- INTP

Q

It’s been a while since I tackled the walking brain that is the INTP. And for a while I didn’t care about typing Q because I was never sure if he was ENTP or INTP. The older a character/person is, the more difficult it can be to type because, with any stroke of luck, they’ll begin to balance out. So Q making jokes and being funny while inventing crazy weapons and tools isn’t strictly ENTP territory. Especially not for the rebooted Q. His jokes are muted and his gadgets aren’t so…gadgety.

And it’s not like all INTPs are brilliantly learned, literal Architects as Q isn’t the architect of every single invention. Let’s just be happy for Q he wasn’t around to witness the horror of the invisible carContinue reading

MBTI: Ex Machina

Spoilers ahead!

I have no choice but to know this is going to be, at the very least, on my Top 10 of the year. With how little has come out that I actually care about, Ex Machina was like an oasis in the desert. Could I see some people being bored by it? Yep. The three people I was in the theater with all were.

But they couldn’t deny it was good.

So here are the types of the few characters there were. It’s always funny to see what types are present as well as missing and how that changes the tone of the film. No Guardians, the show is probably very flexible, maybe a lot of action, no Idealists and people’s morals get flexible, all that good stuff. See what you get from this. Continue reading

MBTI: The Strongest of Them All

Been thinking on this one for a while now. Every time a power hungry character is to be typed, types with heavy Te come to mind. But if the character has/gets too much power, it’s possible for them to become impossible to type.

Take Lucy for example. Of the movie, uh, Lucy. Though she starts off a party girl (Presumably ESFP of course), the more her entire brain is being put to use (Bwahahaha) the less you could say she retains her personality because she’s becoming a living computer. By the end, you wouldn’t say she’s INTJ or something because she didn’t evolve into a better type, she transcended type all together.

Well, that’s not what the following is. The following is a collection of types and characters that are the most powerful yet still retain their personalities. Better yet, their powers are actually a great representation of their powers. Hold onto your butts. Continue reading

MBTI: Abed Nadir- INTP

Written by Bryce Waller!

What makes Abed the most obvious INTP, and possibly the only one on the show, is the fact that INTPs do not concern themselves with day-to-day activities. The only reason Abed ever opens up as much as he does is because the group accepted him as he was and allowed him to become comfortable inside that study room.

Once they opened up their hearts and minds for Abed, there was no longer a threshold for how much energy Abed would expend on solving problems no one else in the group could.  Continue reading

Article written in part by Josh. Guy knows his animals.

*Additional animals posted on 4/14/15

Everybody loves animals except people who don’t. With that in mind, I’ve seen a lot of charts and articles relating MBTI types to specific animals. They’re good at times but something is missing from them. And that something is the Zombies Ruin Everything touch.

If there’s one thing better than  know MBTI, it’s movies. If it’s not movies, it’s music. If it’s not that, then somewhere down the line is animals which is how we’ve reached this point in my post. Now that the intro is out of the way, let’s get to it. Continue reading

MBTI: Otacon and Fatman- INTP

fatcon

While my post on The Three Types of ISTP- Arya, Bronn, and The Hound (Game of Thrones) received some positive feedback, the unfortunate thing is that there are only so many works of fiction with the varying degrees of the same type. So there’s only many posts like that to be made.

But thanks to Metal Gear Solid, we’ve at least two solid examples of an INTP that will allow me to write a full article. Weeee- Continue reading

MBTI: Jurassic Park Cast

With the trailer to the newest Jurassic Park up and the movie coming out later this year, it’s time to take a look back at the movie that permeated our minds as to what dinosaurs looked, moved, and sounded like. And though the new one has got to be better than the third one with trained raptors fist-bumping Star-Lord, the 1993 film really does stand the test of time.

No seriously, even now that they think dinosaurs had feathers, it’s still had to have sounded just like the T-rex in the movies. Its roar was made by combining an elephant, a tiger, and an alligator while it’s breath was done by a whale’s blow hole. Fun fact for ya. Continue reading
