MBTI: Monster Girl- ESFP

As the perfect opposite to her former love, Robot, Monster Girl is also known as Amanda. Amanda can change into a giant green monster (ta-da) which increases her speed, stamina, strength and just about anything else the Hulk can do. Except she’s not the Hulk, she’s a monster.

Another creative character from the Invincible universe, Amanda’s age in human form has a reverse effect every time she turns into the beast the world so often needs. So while she had been forty-two mentally, she was in her 20s when we first meet her and she was only getting younger. Guess she shouldn’t have made fun of that gypsy. Continue reading

MBTI: Angstrom Levy- INTJ

Warning! Spoilers ahead!

I love this guy. You can’t help but get into a character that plays the world-ruling supervillain trope straight but parodies it at the same time. Angstrom Levy is part Doctor Doom, part Brainiac, all megalomaniac.

If you haven’t made yourself familiar with Invincible comics yet, I shame you and your father! Continue reading

MBTI: Nolan and Robot- ISTJ and INTJ

I can’t recall having compared these two oh-so-similar yet oh-so-very-different types before so now is my time to shine (Oh wait- yes I did. Still, this has got some new stuff in it). If you’ve read Invincible like I told you to you know who these guys are. If you don’t know who these guys are because you didn’t do what I told you to because ain’t nobody the boss of you, then listen up because we can still all learn something together.

Though these two don’t have much interaction in any storyline, it doesn’t make much of a difference to their personalities and seeing them in action are great examples of their types, bizarre as their experiences are. One is a twist on the original superhero himself, Superman, while the other is sort of like if Iron Man were an INTJ. So, still a jerk.

But an INTJ jerk and there’s a difference. Continue reading

Analysis of Dinosaurus

Warning! Some spoilers ahead!

If you’ve looked over the more recent posts of the site, you’ve probably noticed I’ve gotten into Robert Kirkman’s Invincible comic. I can’t help myself, it’s just that good.

And one of the bigger characters to show up in issue #68 is Dinosaurus. Yes, you read that right probably. Similar to Marvel’s character The Lizard or Batman’s Manbat (Yep), Dinosaurus is a villain that goes from a somewhat innocent human then transforms into a giant animal of some kind. In this case, a dinosaur-like creature. Continue reading

MBTI: Atom Eve- ISFP

With Invincible and Allen able to punch holes in any supervillain, giant meteor, planets, or anything else that would get in their way, Samantha Eve Wilkins and her abilities are a little more complex. Eve has the ability restructure matter through her thoughts. I had to look up how to explain that because while I’ve read every issue and been able to accept what she’s shown to do, wording it is a lot tougher.

Which isn’t that dissimilar to the ISFP themselves; easy to accept, difficult to understand. Fi is tricky. Continue reading

MBTI: Allen the Alien- ESFJ

There are more prominent characters in Invincible but Allen is too cool and I haven’t done a full ESFJ post since November so chamon, let’s do this.

One thing you’ll notice since Allen’s first appearance is that he’s really nice. Not just, “Hmm, he seems like a nice guy” but more like he gets punched in the face and responds with a “Wow, you hit really hard!” Even in space, you can’t get away from them. Those ESFJs. They’re so nice I hate them. Continue reading

MBTI: Invincible- ENTP

The title character of The Best superhero comic book in the universe! was a tough one to figure out. The books themselves focus on so many characters in their 100-plus run and we see Mark Grayson go through a lot.

It also seemed crazy that in Invincible’s world of heroes, villains, crazy alien monsters and superfreaks galore that there would be such a thing as an ENTP character that wasn’t a mad scientist or something of that nature. But Mark starts out as just a regular guy and it seems that his way of reinventing things is by trying to keep his hyper complicated world a little more simple. Continue reading

Three Image Comics You Need to Read- NOW

If you know me at all (I like to think of us as the symbiote suit, or maybe even a cult) then you know I like comics. It’s not even about reading a thousand a week or being obsessed, but the medium itself interests me.

And while I’ve always been a Marvel Man (and sometimes a Marvel girl), occasionally I’ll come across something that’s outside of my normal reading habits and man, can they take you by surprise.

Below are three books that you should check out, even if you’re not into comics. Continue reading
