I had to word the title carefully so as not to make it sound like I was typing “Heroes,” the show and so it wouldn’t so like the other post, MBTI: The Types (of Types) of Heroes. Though I guess any writer who knows how to bring in the readers would have made it sound like both of those posts just to get everybody. But that ain’t me.

If you’ve come here enough, you’ve seen links to what has to be one of the greatest sites on the internet, TV Tropes. Yes, even better than BubbaliciousBlackBubbleButts.com. If that’s a real site, I had no idea. And from TV Tropes and Typing, can come the realization that every type fits well within the confines of some of the many sorts of heroes fiction can bring us. So while we’ve described how each type is represented in the Hero mold, let’s reverse this to see how the Hero mold can fit certain types.

If you see the name, there is a link to it. Continue reading

MBTI: Rita Vrataski- ISTJ

Or Live. Die. Repeat., whatever. I prefer the source material title, All You Need is Kill, but it all sounds good.

Maybe one of the most interesting types to me in fiction because of their trudging tenacity through life and all it’s problems. Rita’s a lot older than she looks thanks to living the same day over and over again for who knows how long.

Using a mech suit, a helicopter blade, and at one point, time travel, the “Angel of Verdun” has got a lot of tools in her arsenal. But surprise, no matter how many times she tried, she just couldn’t bring down the alien menace…alone. Continue reading

MBTI: The ESTP and ISTJ Team-Up

There are certain types that always seem to be thrown together. You’ve got your mismatched and ready-to-murder each other INTJ and ESFP, the opposite but similar ISTP and ENTP, and now we’ve got ISTJ and ESTP.

But unlike ISTP and ENTP, who will usually get along and the INTJ/ESFP pairing where the two can’t stand each other, the ISTJ and ESTP team up will be a combination of the two- Disgust at first, with eventual understanding of the others’ strengths and weaknesses. Continue reading

It’s always interesting, the idea that your lineage would have a symbol for them and you. What would yours be? Everybody would like to think it would be as awesome as a wolf or dragon but somebody’s got to end up with an open palm holding flower petals right?

Well this isn’t giving a sigil to types but typing the houses already in play in Game of Thrones. What are the proud Lannisters and the secluded and stubborn Greyjoys? See if you agree. Continue reading

MBTI: Stannis Baratheon- ISTJ

Spoilers! You’ve been warned!

Didn’t we just do an ISTJ like, last week maybe? Doesn’t matter, Stannis is marching through. If you don’t like it, too bad.

This is the way he lives and practically all we know of Stannis. If this guy wants something, stone-cold logic dictates that he bulldoze through anyone that would oppose him and take it. I try to leave spoilers out of the introduction so let’s get to it! Continue reading

MBTI: Can Agent 47 be Typed?

hitman1

If you’ve played any game from the Hitman series, you’re my friend. And since a new movie supposedly based off those games is coming out and it looks like the worst thing since cancer, I want to cover the character for anyone interested and also set the record straight on such an amazing creation that this movie is sure to (further) tarnish.

So what type is the mysterious Agent 47? For me, he appears to be an ISTP at first glance while many may think INTJ. Some would probably throw in INFJ (I wouldn’t) and yet many of his traits bare resemblance to ISTJ. Let’s examine. Continue reading

MBTI: Nolan and Robot- ISTJ and INTJ

I can’t recall having compared these two oh-so-similar yet oh-so-very-different types before so now is my time to shine (Oh wait- yes I did. Still, this has got some new stuff in it). If you’ve read Invincible like I told you to you know who these guys are. If you don’t know who these guys are because you didn’t do what I told you to because ain’t nobody the boss of you, then listen up because we can still all learn something together.

Though these two don’t have much interaction in any storyline, it doesn’t make much of a difference to their personalities and seeing them in action are great examples of their types, bizarre as their experiences are. One is a twist on the original superhero himself, Superman, while the other is sort of like if Iron Man were an INTJ. So, still a jerk.

But an INTJ jerk and there’s a difference. Continue reading

MBTI: Neon Genesis Evangelion’s EVAs

Spoilers ahead!

OMG WTF is this guy doing typing cartoon robots amirite? Normally I would have given up on anybody who relegated MBTI from helpful/fun tool to “Let’s type a washing machine! ESFJ!” But this is different, I swear.

Since I was on the subject of Ex Machina and borots (Robots for the layman), I figured I’d go ahead with the idea of typing some of the most insanely awesome inventions in all of fiction- the EVAs. And while I pondered whether or not you can type a fictional robot with Ultron as the main subject, fiction does have a tendency to blur humanity and the…in…humane? If Ultron can mimic a personality to resemble an ENTJ, the EVAs and their apparent “emotions” can appear similarly to real personalities as well. Not to mention, the EVAs have certain traits other fictional robots can’t really boast.

Let’s do this.

MBTI: The Strongest of Them All

Been thinking on this one for a while now. Every time a power hungry character is to be typed, types with heavy Te come to mind. But if the character has/gets too much power, it’s possible for them to become impossible to type.

Take Lucy for example. Of the movie, uh, Lucy. Though she starts off a party girl (Presumably ESFP of course), the more her entire brain is being put to use (Bwahahaha) the less you could say she retains her personality because she’s becoming a living computer. By the end, you wouldn’t say she’s INTJ or something because she didn’t evolve into a better type, she transcended type all together.

Well, that’s not what the following is. The following is a collection of types and characters that are the most powerful yet still retain their personalities. Better yet, their powers are actually a great representation of their powers. Hold onto your butts. Continue reading

Article written in part by Josh. Guy knows his animals.

*Additional animals posted on 4/14/15

Everybody loves animals except people who don’t. With that in mind, I’ve seen a lot of charts and articles relating MBTI types to specific animals. They’re good at times but something is missing from them. And that something is the Zombies Ruin Everything touch.

If there’s one thing better than  know MBTI, it’s movies. If it’s not movies, it’s music. If it’s not that, then somewhere down the line is animals which is how we’ve reached this point in my post. Now that the intro is out of the way, let’s get to it. Continue reading
