hero18

I had to word the title carefully so as not to make it sound like I was typing “Heroes,” the show and so it wouldn’t so like the other post, MBTI: The Types (of Types) of Heroes. Though I guess any writer who knows how to bring in the readers would have made it sound like both of those posts just to get everybody. But that ain’t me.

If you’ve come here enough, you’ve seen links to what has to be one of the greatest sites on the internet, TV Tropes. Yes, even better than BubbaliciousBlackBubbleButts.com. If that’s a real site, I had no idea. And from TV Tropes and Typing, can come the realization that every type fits well within the confines of some of the many sorts of heroes fiction can bring us. So while we’ve described how each type is represented in the Hero mold, let’s reverse this to see how the Hero mold can fit certain types.

If you see the name, there is a link to it. Continue reading

MBTI: Vamp- ISTP

vamp1

One of the creepiest characters and most capable characters in the MGS series, Vamp was a guy that just wouldn’t die, long after he began to want it to happen.

Pretty straightforward as a enemy but it should be taken into consideration that his abilities don’t directly play into his type or vice versa, seeing as how nanomachines, aka superpowers, are going to give any one type a physical edge, be they INFP or ESTJ. Continue reading

MBTI: Can Chewbacca be Typed?

The closer the release date of Star Wars is, and the new Battlefront game, the more people ask about Star Wars characters. Coincidence? No.

I’ve done the main cast I think, or at least the ones people really care about. But what about Chewie? And Ponda Baba? Let’s stick with Chewie. He growls and whatever other noises he makes and that’s it pretty much. So surely we can’t. I mean, a dog can have a personality of sorts but that doesn’t mean he can be typed no matter how many times you’ve “jokingly” done it.

But there’s enough to his character that we’ve got to be able to find something there resembling an MBTI type. Continue reading

MBTI: Tropic Thunder

tropic

One of the most quotable movies pretty much ever, Tropic Thunder is a comedy I always think I’m sick of until I watch it again. Then the madness starts and I have to go through the whole thing. It’s not even a choice.

I remember people standing outside of the theater telling us not to watch the movie because it was promoting hatred. Then we were all thinking “Well, we’ve GOT to see it now.” The moral of these last two sentences is that trying to ruin something won’t work if you make it appear edgy and offensive. MBTI: Game of Thrones’ Houses

It’s always interesting, the idea that your lineage would have a symbol for them and you. What would yours be? Everybody would like to think it would be as awesome as a wolf or dragon but somebody’s got to end up with an open palm holding flower petals right?

Well this isn’t giving a sigil to types but typing the houses already in play in Game of Thrones. What are the proud Lannisters and the secluded and stubborn Greyjoys? See if you agree. Continue reading

MBTI: Can Agent 47 be Typed?

hitman1

If you’ve played any game from the Hitman series, you’re my friend. And since a new movie supposedly based off those games is coming out and it looks like the worst thing since cancer, I want to cover the character for anyone interested and also set the record straight on such an amazing creation that this movie is sure to (further) tarnish.

So what type is the mysterious Agent 47? For me, he appears to be an ISTP at first glance while many may think INTJ. Some would probably throw in INFJ (I wouldn’t) and yet many of his traits bare resemblance to ISTJ. Let’s examine. Continue reading

MBTI: Max Rockatansky- ISTP

Posted in MBTI Artisans, MBTI Stuff with tags , , , , , , on 05/14/2015 by Taylor Holt

mad

I need to get into some new genres. When filling out the list of manliest characters of all time (Soon to be a real article!), ISTP makes eight of them. That’s not a problem when watching the movie, but when it comes to typing a relevant character (Often times I’m being asked to type so it’s not just me coming up with this stuff), we end up with ISTP. It’s almost as though all the characters online users were originally telling me were INTJ are actually ISTP.

And Max ain’t no different in that sense. While the first film deals with the death of Max’s wife and kid at the hands of a vicious biker gang, the second and third film deals with an apocalyptic ISTP paradise wherein Max battles even more theatrically violent gangs all for gas and water. When you get down to it, what else matters? Human life? Oh, yeah, that too. Continue reading

MBTI: Neon Genesis Evangelion’s EVAs

Spoilers ahead!

OMG WTF is this guy doing typing cartoon robots amirite? Normally I would have given up on anybody who relegated MBTI from helpful/fun tool to “Let’s type a washing machine! ESFJ!” But this is different, I swear.

Since I was on the subject of Ex Machina and borots (Robots for the layman), I figured I’d go ahead with the idea of typing some of the most insanely awesome inventions in all of fiction- the EVAs. And while I pondered whether or not you can type a fictional robot with Ultron as the main subject, fiction does have a tendency to blur humanity and the…in…humane? If Ultron can mimic a personality to resemble an ENTJ, the EVAs and their apparent “emotions” can appear similarly to real personalities as well. Not to mention, the EVAs have certain traits other fictional robots can’t really boast.

Let’s do this.

MBTI: Hawkeye and the ISTP Teammate

Since I’ve probably got more characters on here typed as ISTP than any other type, why not do every major version of Clint “Hawkeye” Barton, where, though people may not want to believe it, every version is an ISTP. And just like your own type, they all act slightly different yet the type is still the same. What kind exactly? You’ll have to check it out, cowboy.

And this isn’t just different types of ISTP, as was a similar article with a few Game of Thrones characters, but rather how the ISTP plays into team dynamics using Hawkeye as a model. Specifically his 616 version (The original comic book counterpart), the 1610 version (The “Ultimate” line of Marvel comics), and the Marvel Cinematic Universe version. Continue reading
