MBTI: Vision- INFJ

For all the characters claimed to be INFJ, this is what an actual INFJ hero looks like…in fiction of course. The living android has got a list of impressive powers but none are more impressive than a robot that seems to have more humanity in him than most characters in the Marvel universe, comics or film.

One thing about the INFJ is that they have a weird way of being able to blend in, yet never really blending in. Do you know what I mean? No? I’ll explain. Continue reading

Here’s Part I in case you missed it.

Seeing as how Guardians of the Galaxy was finally released, it was nice for the views on that article to finally pick up. It seems people don’t want to read about the profiles of characters until they actually see something with them in it. Go figure.

But there were other characters as well, even if a talking raccoon and talking tree stole most of the show. Here are the characters not typed in the original post because hey, these guys aren’t the actual guardians. Continue reading

Movie Review: Guardians of the Galaxy

Stars: Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Lee Pace, Karen Gillan, Djimon Honsou, Michael Rooker, John C. Reilly, Glenn Close, Benicio del Toro

Rated PG-13 for intense sequences of sci-fi violence and action, and for some language, Running time 121 minutes, Action/Sci-fi/Adventure

Compare to: Star Trek (2009), Pacific Rim (2013)

When Guardians of the Galaxy was initially announced, it was met with as much excitement as it was confusion. “A movie from the Avengers people? Woo-hoo! It’s got a walking tree and a talking raccoon in it? Huh?”

But being based on the comics, the world is as weird as it is vast and with comic book movies being where the money is, there are only so many movies that are going to be released that bring the modern day mythological characters down to earth while looking up to the stars seems like the next step. MBTI: THE HULK- ESFP

hulk

You’ve got your nerdy scientist and he’s alright, right? He’s smart, he’s a nice guy, he does stuff with lab coats and whatnot; you know what scientists do.

But then he’s got this alter ego that’s waaay more fun. He doesn’t hold you up with long, boring conversations. He’s always doing something worth noticing, and he’s the best there is at what he does (Smashing things. That’s what he does). Get ready for the ESFP, sucka! Continue reading

Well, Thor: the Dark World is out and as just about all Marvel movies since 2008 have done, there’s inevitably going to be a scene at the end leading up to the next Marvel movie.  This one may lead up to the Guardians of the Galaxy movie that’s due out next August.

Don’t know the Guardians? Think misfit Avengers in space. Don’t be too ashamed that you don’t know, I’m actually more surprised that they’re getting they’re own movie due to the fact that so many more simple characters can’t even get greenlit. Seriously, how hard is it to make a movie about Luke Cage?? Black dude, science experiment, bulletproof skin- c’mon! Continue reading

MBTI: Blade- ISTP

blade2

Everybody’s favorite vampire hunter only has two settings- sleeping and killing, about the same as ISTP, albeit maybe a little more violent.

A quiet, fun-loving guy that likes long walks on the beach and meeting for a romantic rendezvous with a secret lover for a little bit of leather-bound book reading, preferably poetry from a book that has a buckle that allows for a little more security.

No, he’s a vampire hunter and is great at it. I like the idea of typing a guy that has no problems killing all the monsters that make Halloween so great. A supernatural Orkin man, as it were.

MBTI: Loki- ENTJ

loki

Usually “trickster” types are reserved for ENTPs and other types that are known to mess around with others just for the fun of it. But Loki’s messing around doesn’t really consist of goals like “fun” and “reactions” but rather world-ruling and planet destroying.

So while his goals are usually pretty obvious, his intentions and his methods are usually a mystery. He may help you, he may damn you, we just don’t know until it’s happened.

Let’s also make it clear that we’re speaking specifically of the Marvel Comics’ Loki rather than the original mythological figure and I really just don’t care about the movie version but he can be typed the same. Continue reading

MBTI: Magneto- ENTJ

magneto

The Master of Magnetism himself has a type almost made just for him. The charisma, power, and entitlement that is Magneto is the longest running X-Men villain for a reason. As powerful as Professor X, Wolverine and Jean Grey may be, there’s little they’ve been able to do to Magneto over the years aside from temporarily slow him down.

For the Professor and Jean? Just add a helmet and continue on for world domination. For Fox’s favorite adamantium-laced show pony? He may be the weakest in the face of The Brotherhood; because the ENTJ has got to have his entourage. Continue reading

Movie Review: The Avengers

Posted in Reviews! with tags , , , , , , , , , , on 05/02/2012 by McCutcheon

Stars: Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo

Rated PG-13 for intense sequences of sci-fi  action throughout and a mild drug reference. Running time 142 minutes, Action/Adventure/Sci-fi

Plays like: Star Trek (2009), Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol (2011)

Back in 2002, I remember reading an article for a possible Superman/Batman movie. This of course, was before they rebooted the Batman franchise altogether and I remember thinking “They’ll never do that! They can’t! It’d be too much and not enough at the same time!” And I think I was right about that still. So when there was talk of an Avengers movie in ’08 when the first Iron Man was released, I was skeptical. But with all the end-credits scenes and movie-by-movie, the heroes were introduced. Even as I was watching the Iron Man interract with Captain America, Thor, Nick Fury; I was still thinking “Man, I can’t believe they actually did it.” Well, they did and you’re gonna like it. Continue reading
