MBTI: C-3PO- ESFJ

threep2

Take a look at those random letters of a title, eh?

Though he gets pegged as an ISFJ a lot, Threepio’s main function is to please, and he does this by doing and saying whatever his masters want him to do right then. None of that was meant to be sexual. But for an ISFJ, a lot of characters tell him to shut up quite a bit, don’t they? I’m seeing dominant Fe. Continue reading

MBTI: Can Chewbacca be Typed?

The closer the release date of Star Wars is, and the new Battlefront game, the more people ask about Star Wars characters. Coincidence? No.

I’ve done the main cast I think, or at least the ones people really care about. But what about Chewie? And Ponda Baba? Let’s stick with Chewie. He growls and whatever other noises he makes and that’s it pretty much. So surely we can’t. I mean, a dog can have a personality of sorts but that doesn’t mean he can be typed no matter how many times you’ve “jokingly” done it.

But there’s enough to his character that we’ve got to be able to find something there resembling an MBTI type. Continue reading

MBTI: Han Solo- ISTP

The new trailer is out as well as the first Battlefront ad, and maybe because of it I’ve been asked by several people (maybe they know each other) to post the rebel without a cause, Han Solo himself.

Often typed as ESTP, you can see the clear difference upon meeting Lando, who plays sleazy to Solo’s careless attitude. The longer the series goes on, the more you can see him going from cool and cocky to caring…who is also still cool and cocky. Continue reading

When it comes to Star Wars, specifically Jedi, everybody knows you’ve got to “Trust your feelings.”

And as often as people say they’d be an awesome Jedi (or even claim it as a religion), who would actually make a good Jedi? When asked certain questions like “Would you rather be a Jedi or “fill in the blank with a superpower?” Jedi is usually the answer…until they’re reminded being a Jedi require constant training. Suddenly there’s this look on their face that just says disappointedly, “…Oh.

So going by type, let’s take a look at what the reality of it is.

Reality“- Ha!

5 Reasons George Lucas Needed to Make the Prequels Regardless of How Much They Sucked

With the new Star Wars films in production, it’s only natural to be excited. Or to not care altogether. Whichever.

Though much of the excitement seemed to come from the fact that they’d be taken from George Lucas and put into the hands of capable film makers that love the material even more. We’d all seen what Lucas does with his decades-old properties and it’s been time for a change.

But even with Lucas’ plan for the prequels becoming glorified mannequin positioning, is there anything to salvage from them? Are they three films with nothing for us to take away? Maybe, but here are some ideas on why they needed to be made for one reason or another, whether or not they sucked.

And man, did they suck. Continue reading

When the Character is You

SWluke

We all relate to certain characters in the fiction we like. Heck, it’s part of why we like it. Sometimes it’s as simple as empathizing with a character’s problems or seeing ourselves as the struggling anti-hero we’re watching onscreen.

But then there are the times when the character actually is us. It goes beyond just having things and common and maybe you don’t even like this character- but it’s you, or us rather, as the audience. Continue reading

Bryce believes that Star Wars is deeper than some people give it credit for (after all those shiny but rotten prequels). All of this is still experimental, so let us know what you think. Continue reading

Theory: All the Jedi Had to Die

Posted in Whatever with tags , , , on 12/16/2013 by Taylor Holt

jedi

We always think of the Jedi in the Star Wars stories as being near perfect; peacekeepers and the upholders of light in a massive universe that needs the caring hand of the spiritual sentients to guide them.

And what are the Sith? The Dark side, of course. The ones in the galaxy the simply want to rule through power and fear and they’re some of the few powerful enough to actually do it.

And because of this, they’re the bad guys. And the Jedi are the good guys.

…Aren’t they? Continue reading

MBTI: Obi-Wan Kenobi- ENFJ

I wasn’t going to type another Star Wars character for a while, seeing as how I just did one and I’ve gotta keep things real u no? But I don’t want to leave out any Idealist Jedi and there’s only one missing so here goes.

Of all the types and Idealists, the ones that seem to be almost factory made for teaching and leading simultaneously is the ENFJ. Their solid people skills along with their genuine nature to care about the people in their lives is a great combination for a leader and in the right circumstances, a great follower as well. Obi-Wan represents these traits well. Continue reading

MBTI: Qui-Gon Jinn- ENFP

Regardless of type, it seems the best Jedi, at least on the light side of the Force, tend to lean to the Idealist side of things. Something about being one with the universe, respecting all walks of life and having vaguely awesome super powers just gives them an edge other types don’t have.

Qui-Gon bounces back and forth between a couple strong possibilities but ENFP seems to be the best fit, as he’s in tune with the living force, has the best in mind for all, yet is often described as a maverick- great at what he does, but the guy just won’t follow the rules. What Qui-Gon? You don’t want to be on the stuffy council? Continue reading
