…Or as I like to call them “night and day” and that’s because I’m so funny hahahahaha.

The Avengers films have really taken off and though they could have gotten one of many well known actors to take the role on (Hasselhoff notwithstanding), why not cast the guy his Ultimate counterpart was not only based on, but outright says a movie version of him should be played by Samuel L. Jackson?

And as great a reimagining as he is, we can’t leave original Nick Fury out either, can we? He’s got a great look, a lot of history and don’t take no guff. So what are the differences between the original Nick Fury and the one the world at large has grown accustomed to? They share a lot of similarities but the differences are vast. Continue reading

As huge as The Avengers movies are and as long as the character has been around, I’ve never been able to bring myself to type the sultry redhead. INFJ or INTJ?

Ah, I’m just playing of course. Black Widow is one of those typings where no research is needed to dive into her character. Not that she’s not well written, but c’mon- a good looking spy, a bit untrustworthy, uses sex as a tool and her past is as mysterious as what they’re doing when they’re not in view. This is pretty much Bond in female form. Continue reading

ZRE Podcast #30- Ready…FIGHT!

fight30

We’ve discussed rivalries before, but this is different. Regardless of universe, there will rarely ever be a way for our favorite characters to actually battle it out. You’ll always have fans hatefully disagreeing or one character loses due to the plot demanding that one to lose.

So for a few minutes, we sit down to go through a few of these dream matches and why the outcome would be…what it would…be. Continue reading

MBTI: Scarlet Witch- INFP

Daddy may be able to manipulate metal but lil baby Maximoff can manipulate reality. Such an INFP  power, right?

While other types mood swings may result in deaths or something worse (banishment to another dimension, who knows), Scarlet Witch’s power can distort your existence through “hex bolts.” Initially causing bad luck to whoever she unintentionally affected, she eventually came to be in control of her powers…something that to this day, I don’t even really understand. But she’s powerful, right? Continue reading

Movie Review: The Avengers

Posted in Reviews! with tags , , , , , , , , , , on 05/02/2012 by Taylor Holt

Stars: Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo

Rated PG-13 for intense sequences of sci-fi  action throughout and a mild drug reference. Running time 142 minutes, Action/Adventure/Sci-fi

Plays like: Star Trek (2009), Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol (2011)

Back in 2002, I remember reading an article for a possible Superman/Batman movie. This of course, was before they rebooted the Batman franchise altogether and I remember thinking “They’ll never do that! They can’t! It’d be too much and not enough at the same time!” And I think I was right about that still. So when there was talk of an Avengers movie in ’08 when the first Iron Man was released, I was skeptical. But with all the end-credits scenes and movie-by-movie, the heroes were introduced. Even as I was watching the Iron Man interract with Captain America, Thor, Nick Fury; I was still thinking “Man, I can’t believe they actually did it.” Well, they did and you’re gonna like it. Continue reading
