MBTI: Commissioner Gordon- ISFJ

Everything about Batman screams danger, confidence, and an unbridled dedication to justice. Everything about Jim Gordon mumbles “Ah, crap. Who’s mess am I cleaning up now?”

Though the ISFJ hates the mess they’re dealing with, what they hate even more is leaving it dirty. Known for their quiet restlessness, it only makes sense that Bruce Wayne’s contact within the police would be an ISFJ. Like Watson to Holmes, Gordon relies on Batman but still carries a heavy load on his own end, never once looking for the credit that should so easily be given to them. Continue reading

As far as certain characters go, I always see some as being the end-all, be-all. For ISTJs, Dredd is the poster boy. For INTJ, it’s nearly any hang-out-behind-the-curtains villain. And as far as ENTPs go, the Joker is the best version of the evil side.

Is being evil cool? About as cool as a serial killer (which is not cool). But most frequently, I’ll use the Joker as a solid ENTP example because he’s such an extreme version of the type that all others fall under his roof, allowing me to move on with my point.

But as the real world would have it, there are some that still argue and I wouldn’t have it any other way. While the most recent film version of Superman took to the skies and turned their good ol’ boy into the rarest of introverts, Nolan took a different route with the Mastermind detective and turned him into the everyman that couldn’t let him or his fellow man be abused anymore. How did they do this, you spake? Click on the link and I’ll stop typing like Jar Jar. Continue reading

MBTI: The Joker- ENTP

Was there ever any doubt? The Prince of Knaves has only ever gone between a couple different types aside from simply being labeled “insane” (read Super Sanity) and just dropped as a typing candidate. But while others types take a step back and say “Why would anybody do that?” in a seemingly senseless scenario, the ENTP may have already done it.

In every medium, the Joker can be typed as ENTP. From harmless prankster to the modern-day horror show that wears his own face, he fits this type to a near perfect degree. His willingness to go to extremes that other characters find ridiculous and/or repulsive are, in many cases, the things to confuse many on what his preferences are, functionally speaking. This is where Extraverted Intuition comes into play. Continue reading
